Data Management for Analytics

According to Data Management Body of Knowledge by DAMA International (DAMA-DMBoK), data management is the development, execution, and supervision of plans, policies, programs, and practices that deliver, control, protect and enhance the value of data and information assets throughout their lifecycles. Data management professionals fill numerous roles, from the highly technical (such as database administrators, programmers) to strategic business (such as data stewards, data strategist, chief data officer).

Based on Hype Cycle for Data Management, 2020 published by Gartner in July 2020, it is noticed that data management continues to be the central theme in the move toward digital business. The most significant effect of digital business maturity is the demand for a combined data storing and data integration style of data management.
